ARUSHA- TARANGIRE - NGORONGORO - SERENGETI
- MANYARA
Day 01 : Arrive Arusha- Karibu – Welcome
in Kiswahili. Arrival can be at Kilimanjaro International
Airport (JRO) in Arusha or Jomo Kenyatta International
Airport in Nairobi - from where we also provide a shuttle
transfer to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, we are warmly
received and transferred to the hotel. Arusha is the
exact center between Cairo and Cape Town and is the
capital of the East African Community. Overnight: Mount

Day 02 ; Arusha- Private guide and
game viewing Land Cruiser 4x4. Includes a guided hike
on the slopes of Mount Meru amongst the wildlife. The
village of IIkiding’a at the foot of Mt. Meru, where
the sounds of rivers, birds and people are in harmony,
offers a view into the culture of the Wa-arusha tribe.
A visit to a local traditionally built household to
get an idea on how an extended family lives together,
a visit to the primary school where money generated
from tourism as Development Fees is used to rehabilitate
the school, a visit to the traditional healer, who is
ready to answer all your questions and give advice if
needed, a visit to the craftsmen making small wooden
tools, jewellery, knives and traditional clothing. Overnight;

Day 03 : Tarangire National Park-
Our safari begins with an early morning departure for
Tarangire National Park. This park offers wide panoramas
of open acacia woodland and grass savanna, where herds
(often two hundred strong) of elephants and other unique
residents, such as fringe-eared oryx and kuduroam, run
free. Seeing the game in their natural setting helps
us understand their unique characters and lifestyles.

Day 04; Tarangire National Park- Depart
with picnic lunch boxes with your Private guide and
game viewing Land Cruiser 4x4. On the West of Tarangire
lies Babati and the nearby Hanang district, the people
follow their tribal culture closely and visitors can
freely mix with them to observe there lifestyle.
The highlights of a tour to the area are; an exclusive
Mount Hanang climb, a special Barbaig cultural insight
hike, a fishing adventure with local canoes on Lake
Babati while viewing Hippos, a chance to participate
in local brick and pottery making and beer brewing,
a visit to development projects like cattle and goat
dairy farming, piped water project, bio gas energy project.

Day 05: Ngorongoro Crater- Morning
is free to enjoy the natural beauty of the Tarangire.
Around midday we depart for Ngorongoro Crater. Enroute
we stop at the Mto wa Mbu village – with an optional
visit to meet the Maasai elders and witness the chiefdom
in practise. Mto wa Mbu offers both walking and bicycle
tours through some magnificent scenery. Here we can
see a mixture of different Tanzanian cultures while
enjoying the magnificent lush-green tropical vegetation
at the foot of the Rift Valley. Income from Mto wa Mbu
are used for promotion of energy-saving stoves for the
villagers. The day continues full of attractions as
we cross the majestic Great Rift Valley and proceed
to Ngorongoro Crater – one of the world’s largest animal
inhabited reserves. We are transferred to our safari

Day 06 : Ngorongoro Crater- The oval
shaped Ngorongoro Crater is 300 sqkm/116 sq miles in
area and 610m/2001ft deep crater and is a repository
of Africa's finest wildlife. All of the “Big Five” are
present living a privileged existence on the crater
floor, so placid, you could almost move quietly amongst
them. Our game viewing will be from our naked eyes,
through the binoculars and the lenses of our cameras.
Picnic lunch done within the natural setting of the
Ngorongoro after which we end the safari as we ascend
to the rim to enjoy the rest of the day. Overnight;

Day 07 : Serengeti National Park-
We take a different turn to the culture and history
as we proceed to Olduvai Gorge – the over 2 million
old archaeological site. Here we explore the site and
the museum and learn about the remains of vast numbers
of animals that roamed these plains eons ago. At the
museums we see the famous Zinj skull, the Zinjanthorpus
man of 1.8 million years ago, whose remains were found
here by Dr. Leakey. From here we proceed to the world’s
most famous game park – Serengeti - and have our first
game drive before reaching your lodge.

Day 08 : Serengeti National Park-
Serengeti is a huge national park, as big as Northern
Ireland. As the largest sanctuary in the world, Serengeti
offers breathtaking natural beauty and is unequaled
in scientific value. Serengeti is home to about 4 million
different types of animals including the big five: rhino,
leopard, buffalo, lion and the elephant. We enjoy a
full day game experience at the Serengeti with picnic
lunch. At the end of this day, we will all understand
why the slogan “Serengeti shall not, die!” is so famous.

Day 09 : Serengeti National Park-
We have yet another day at this world famous Serengeti
National Park. This morning is the perfect opportunity
to join an optional Serengeti Balloon Safari at USD.
479 per person. From a hot air balloon, about 1000 feet
above, is an incredible vantage from which to view the
game and action below.
Included is a champagne breakfast. This will be a full
day safari with picnic lunch right on location in Serengeti.
For those not joining the balloon safari, they will
have breakfast at the lodge joining the rest for the

Day 10 : Lake Manyara National Park-A
rural countryside drive, passing through villages, huts,
road side shops, etc. we arrive at the famous Lake Manyara
Game Reserve where we have our afternoon game drive
enroute. Though relatively small in comparison to Serengeti
and Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara is famous for the tree-climbing
lions and numerous migratory birds making viewing here
an all round exercise.

Day 11 : Lake Manyara National Park-
Today we discover the Lake Manyara National Park – one
of the most popular parks in Northern Tanzania and about
the only place where one can, if lucky, get a chance
to see the tree climbing lions. We have a full day of
game with picnic lunch in the natural settings of this
world heritage national park. Overnight: Lake Manyara
Hotel or Similar (B, L, D)
Day 12 : Arusha- After an incredible
game safari and experience of African culture in the
world’s most famous national parks, we drive to Arusha
where we have the choice of continuing on joining one
of Bestway’s African programs to Zanzibar, Uganda, Rwanda,
Kenya, Ethiopia or South Africa. (B, L).
